It wasn’t the first time Elana came home from shopping at Marshalls and said, “I got you some new ties… and some gear I thought might be interesting for the site.” Yes, it turns out that Marshalls can be a great place to find discounted iPhone and iPad cases, headphones and, in this case, wallets and laptops cases. These weren’t any old wallets and laptop cases though. No, these wallets and laptop cases are made from… Tyvek.
Yes, the material you see wrapping new construction in order to create an effective moisture barrier can also be used to create… wallets, laptop and tablet cases. Better yet, the wallets, laptop and tablet cases created with Tyvek are fun AND functional. And while they may look like they are made of paper, because they are made from Tyvek they will actually stand up to the rigors of overstuffing and daily use and abuse in ways most wallets cannot. In addition, because they Mighty Wallet is folded rather than sewed together it will expand and contract depending upon how much you try to stuff inside it. As the company explains,
The ingenious origami construction was and is the original folded Tyvek® wallet designed by Terrence Kelleman. The stitch less design reinforces the materials own strength and allows these very slim wallets to instantly expand and adapt to your own personal storage needs.
Here’s a quick look at it on camera.
So often wallets are serious business – stuffy and stuffed. I just love the fact that these wallets work just as well as, for example, a leather bi-fold wallet, but they do it in a manner that will make you smile each time you need to pull out some cash or hand someone your credit card.
The Mighty Wallet is 100% recyclable, produced, in part, from recycle Tyvek and is both tear-resistant and water-resistant. In addition, even the ones you buy directly from Dynomighty, the company behind the product, are, on average, just $15. Just check out the cool designs they are currently featuring.
I’m kind of partial to this Mighty Wallet that looks like a dollar bill, although it does seem to scream, “Steal me!!!”
Maybe I would be better off with this one.
Then again I could simply go for… simplicity.
Regardless of your taste, there is a Mighty Wallet for you! You can check out all of the designs on the Dynomighty website.
In the meantime, we’re going to give away the South Park wallet Elana brought home the other day.
